Girl Skateboards was created by founding members Mike Carroll and Rick Howard and co-owned by Spike Jonze. They left their previous sponsor - Plan B Skateboards - and grabbed a serious bunch of talent to join them in creating Girl Skateboards, one of the leading brands in the skateboarding community.

Girl skateboard decks are renown for having a high level of artistic input. Through their 'Art Dump' department ran by Andy Jenkins, Andy Mueller, and Eric Anthony, they work with artists such as Geoff McFetridge, Kevin Lyons, Evan Hecox and Hershel Baltrotsky to produce some of the best board graphics for both Girl Skateboards and sister brand Chocolate.
