As trucks are an integral part of your skateboard set-up. Making sure you get the right trucks is an important decision. Better trucks turn better, offer better stability and will be more durable.
Royal Trucks have been making top quality professional skateboard trucks since the late 90s and although they may not be as well known as some of the other skateboard truck brands we personally think they are great value and offer a great ride.
Royal Trucks were founded by Guy Mariano and Rudy Johnson. They now make a huge range of trucks in various colours and designs including the Royal Standard Trucks, Royal Raw Trucks, Royal Inverted Kingpin Trucks and Royal Giants.
Guy Mariano first gained recognition as a skater when he was just 14 years old. He joined the Girl Skateboards team in 1996 and has skated for Nike SB, April, Spitfire Wheels, and Grizzly Griptape amoungst others.
Royal Standard Skateboard Trucks
Royal standard skateboard trucks offer classic geometry and a stylish design. They are made from steel and aluminium ensuring they are both lightweight and strong.
The standard royal trucks have either a raw finish with silver and blue branding or they make black skateboard trucks to the same specifications.
The latest Royal Raw Skateboard Trucks are made with aircraft-grade aluminium. Making these raw trucks even lighter. Plus the new rapid forged construction technique means they are also 30% stronger.
Royal Inverted Kingpin Trucks
Royal Inverted Trucks feature a higher clearance, perfect for grinding. With the thread inside the truck, there will be no worries when it comes to adjusting after the usual wear and tear!
Choosing The Right Trucks for Your Deck
Making sure you have the correct sized trucks for your deck is just as important as choosing the correct style of trucks for your individual skating style and preferences.
If you are just starting out you may be looking at complete skateboards as an affordable option. You can check out our complete skateboards and beginner skateboards here and our guide on buying your first skateboard here.
If you've already got a complete board and are looking to upgrade, getting new trucks, as well as new skateboard bearings and skate wheels, can be a great place to start.
Skateboard decks vary in their width, as well as shape and how concave they are. But it is the width of your deck that matters when choosing the size of your trucks.
Trucks do not have standard sizing with each manufacturer having a different way of sizing their skate trucks. So to help you out we have included the Royal Skateboard Trucks size chart below.
